Macau is known as the "Vegas of Asia" it is indeed a mecca of gambling but it's still more than that. The city is small that you can explore it within a day, especially if you have limited time.
Took the 1 hour
Turbojet Ferry from Kowloon to Macau. I purchased the ticket from Klook on a discounted price (use this referral code: J6KQV ) Here's another
Ferry option that would take you to the other side of Macau, just read the description and decide which of the two you'll purchase. :-)
Here's how I spend my day in Macau:
- Walked around Vila de Taipa
It is a well preserved non-gaming destination which offers a perfect alternative to the city's casino resorts. Walked along the streets of Taipa Village and had lunch at a local restaurant in the area.
2. Tried the Turkish Ice cream for 30 MOP which I no longer have a photo :(, had lunch at a noodle shop in Taipa that also sells Pork Buns which is a must try when you're in Macau.
3. Took advantage of the free shuttle and so I was able to go hotel and casino hopping and took me back to the ferry afterwards.
Each hotel has their own free shuttle that can take you and from the ferry. I took advantage of it and was able to go hotel hopping and checked out how each hotel's casino looked like. :-)
4. Visit the Grand Canal
This one reminds me of Boys Over Flowers. Lol I was also lucky that when I went to the Grand Canal there's an ongoing performance from acrobats. :-)
5. Walk your way to Senado Square from Grand Lisboa Hotel
Senado Square is just a 15 minutes walk from Grand Lisboa Hotel; the tallest building you can see in Macau.
7. Spend time in Saint Dominic's Church
8. Walk your way up to Ruins Of St. Paul
Walk your way up to Ruins Of St. Paul while enjoying all the free taste along the way. Beef Jerky, Biscuits and a lot more. :-)
9. Don't forget to try the Egg Tart on your way back for 10 MOP plus that "thing" I've also been eating in Hong Kong lol
Disclaimer: This is my own itinerary and it may not work for you, it's still up to you guys on how you would like to make your itinerary. A day in Macau has been already enough to explore almost everything but if you would like to stay and check out how Macau looks like at night, it's up to you. :-)
