Whitewater Rafting in Cagayan De Oro

"City of Golden Friendship" -- CAGAYAN DE ORO! Located in the northern part of Mindanao and known for its rafting activity. Also a bustling and vibrant city with lots of commerce, traffic, and leisure venues.

Few vendors on the rafting starting point. They sell waterproof bags, rash guard, shorts and some souvenirs. 
As Whitewater rafting is on the top to-do list in Cagayan De Oro, I'm so glad that we we're able to squeeze it in before we fly back to Manila. We booked with Team CDO Bugsay White Water Rafting for PHP1200/head inclusive already of guide, gears and transportation (city proper - rafting site - city proper) and we paid additional PHP500 to get the copy of our photos and videos. We got the one for beginners where it'll be a 2 to 3 hours run and consists of 14 big rapids and unsure how many small ones was it, I was counting the big rapids at first but when we reached the fourth one, I lost count already. 



We are picked up at exactly 8am at Dunkin Donut city proper and was brought to the rafting site. We are all then asked to gather together as our equipment will be distributed and we are also given a short briefing on what to expect during the rafting activity. I was both nervous and excited for my first rafting experience! This is another check added on my bucket-list. :) 



We're 5 in the group, plus we have a guide who I would really commend as he made sure that we are safe the whole experience. He mentioned that there were only 3 companies that provide whitewater rafting as the others have closed due to the pandemic.

Our guide was very clear when giving instructions as you have to be synchronized especially when approaching the rapids. There were also spots that we were allowed to go down and swim.

There was even a spot where there's a small waterfall, so we line up per boat for our turn for the photo op :p 

One of my favorite was when all of us were asked to climb a big rock for a group photo and right after we were asked to jump. 


It was a super nice experience I would say. So, if you're looking into kicking-off your adrenaline rush, then I highly recommend to go for a whitewater rafting tour at the Cagayan River as it’s sure to take you on a wild ride
