Experience the Flavors of Taiwan at Ersao Taiwanese Restaurant

Ersao had been known for their Taiwanese cuisine, particularly its wide variety of noodles, dumplings, and bubble tea. With a casual dining atmosphere, it's a go-to spot for those craving authentic Taiwanese flavors in a relaxed setting. Marking 23 years in Manila, Ersao continues to delight Filipinos with its authentic Taiwanese cuisine, satisfying their cravings with a range of delicious dishes.

We had the opportunity to visit one of Ersao's branch, situated along the bustling E. Rodriguez highway, who has unveiled a newly renovated branch. We seized the chance to savor a selection of their popular dishes, complemented by their refreshing new smoothies—a fitting choice for Manila's sweltering climate.

Starting off with their Signature Beef Noodle (Php460), this mildly spicy delight features tender beef pieces, known for their soft and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Complemented by fresh petchay, diced scallions, and a garnish of cilantro. This Taiwanese beef soup promises a flavorful and hearty dining experience!

Beef Genji Dumpling Noodles (Php275) feature Ersao's hand-pulled noodles drizzled with aromatic sesame oil. Accompanied by delectable dumplings on the side, which, by the way, were superb, and slices of tenderized beef genji.

Moving on to the rice bowls; Hong Ma Bendong (Php300) where as you'll indulge in thick slices of pork belly, delicately braised in Taiwanese premium soy sauce and topped with black sesame seeds. Accompanied by an adobo egg, Baguio beans, and a side of tangy Kiam Chye vegetable, this dish offers a delightful balance of flavors and textures. Each bite reveals the savory pork, which melts in your mouth, enhanced by the subtle sweetness of the sauce.

Spicy Chicken Bendong (Php195), a top-selling Taiwanese snack, is now served with rice for a satisfying meal. Crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside, it's topped with fragrant basil leaves, adding a herbal touch to every bite. It's easy to see why this dish is a favorite among their customers!

Ersao has expanded its menu over the years, offering Taiwanese snacks as an alternative to noodles or rice meals; My personal favorite is the Pork Steak (Php185), featuring deep-fried pork coated in their Thai sauce. Not only is it delicious on its own, but it also pairs perfectly with rice, in my opinion. Its crispy texture and flavorful taste are sure to leave you craving for more.

Bola-Bola Troops (Php215) are combined fish balls, squid balls, and meatballs. Renowned for their presence in street food culture, these tasty treats are served atop basil leaves, adding a delightful flavor and enhancing their visual appeal.

Another popular street food in Taiwan, Taiwanese Sausage (Php165) is often grilled or pan-fried, resulting in a crisp exterior while maintaining a juicy and tender interior. It boasts a slightly sweet and savory flavor profile with hints of smokiness from the cooking process.

Last for the snack option we tried is the Spicy Squid (Php155), another bestseller at Ersao! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it is garnished with basil leaves to impart a herbal taste. For those who enjoy spiciness, there's an option to season it with chili powder and black pepper.

Ersao started 12 years ago as the country's first pioneer in the milk tea business and has since expanded its product range. In addition to favorites like dumplings, specialty noodles, and rice toppings, they now also offer Summer Chillers. How perfect is that?

Crafted from fresh green apples blended with complementary ingredients, giving the Green Apple Smoothie (Php105) a smooth and velvety concoction boasting a crisp green apple flavor, perfectly balanced by fruity and creamy elements.

Indulge in a dreamy delight with Ersao's Sweet Dream Series this summer, featuring the Cotton Candy Smoothie (Php105). This drink is sure to evoke memories of carnival fun and childhood joy, transporting you to a world of sweet nostalgia.

Their Yogurt Series comes in Blueberry and Strawberry (Php145/each), the combination of creamy yogurt with bursts of berries indeed creates a satisfyingly indulgent yet wholesome treat. It balances the richness of the yogurt with the refreshing sweetness of the berries, offering a delicious and nourishing snack or dessert option.
